(Copyright 2010 Hugh McDonald)

They sing a song at Camptown Races
where the ladies loosen their laces
I bet my money on a blind old horse
my pockets full of tin for entertainers

The Old Blind Horse in the mud-hole is sticking
Its out of the running, I reckon
They fly the track in a flash and I bet my money
on the long shot to come in second

A bumbling cow came on to the race track
the Bob-Tail threw her right back
Fly like a car on the northbound railroad
racing shooting stars like hot potatoes

Its round the track and then to repeat it
the Bob-Tail ran undefeated
the Camptown ladies jump to their feet
its shaking through the ground so all can feel it

doo dah, doo dah etc.
